SPECIAL CONTROL SYSTEMS
FOR TABLEWARE AND HOLLOW GLASS PRODUCTION
SM100 synchronization system is a multi axis synchronization system. It is used to drive a whole tableware a or hollow glass production line.

General structure
SM100 is based on intelligent drives. Program modules are added to drives. Synchronization software is developed by us and it is in program modules. All intelligence is in program modules. There is no need of a controller. An operator panel is avalilable.

System consists of drives, I/O unit and operator panel. All these are connected with each other with communication network.

SM100 can act as master or slave in a multi system line.


Number of axis
Practically number of axis can reach a big number like 100. Number of axis does not affect the performance of synchronization. Because all drives are independent from others.

Motor
The Drives are a very flexible. AC servo motors, AC asynchronous motors or  reluctance motors can be used. This means less spare parts and less training.

Almost all standart feedback devices are supported. So, major brands AC servo motors can be used with it. We prefer servo motors with resolver feedback in glass production lines.

SM100 can synchronize reluctance motors without a feedback device. Only power cable is used for a reluctance motor. This means less maintenance and less lost time.

Electronic gear box
Gear ratio between motor and the mechanism can be defined as (A/B) for each axis. Infinite gear ratio is allowed.

Communication
SM100 can be connected to Modbus, Interbus, Profibus, DeviceNet, Canbus networks.

Master - Slave modes
SM100 can be used in Master or Slave mode.
In master mode SM100 defines the line speed, and produces synchronization signals which can be used by slave systems in the line.
In slave mode SM100 needs a synchronization signal from master system of the line. This synchronization signal can be a pulse, pulse train or an encoder signal.

Motor control types
  • 10 : For continuously rotating axis. Automatic phase adjustment. With reference switch. When servo motor is used, reference signal required only once. After normal stop - start reference signal is not required. Application example : Feeder, burn off machine
  • 11 : Similar to type 10 , but without reference switch. After each stop -  start, axis phase must be adjusted manually by means of advance and retard buttons.
  • 12 : Similar to type 10 , but reference signal required at every cycle. This type is used for reluctance motors.
  • 20 : For continuously rotating axis. Manual phase adjustment. No reference switch. Advance and retard buttons change the speed momentarily. Phase pf the axis is changed by means of adance and retard buttons. Application example : Transfer, stacker, burn of machine.
  • 21 : For continuously rotating axis. Manual speed adjuctment. No reference switch. Advance and retard butttons change axis speed permanently.This is often used to adjust distance between products on conveyors. Application example : Conveyors.
  • 23 : Similar to type 21. But it is enough to set desired product distance on conveyors. Advance and retard buttons have no function. Application example : Conveyors.
  • 24 : For continuously rotating axis. Manual speed adjustment with advance and retard buttons. Axis speed is independent from systems synchronization speed. Unit of the speed is "rpm". Application exapmle : Conveyors.
  • 30 : For indexing axis. For servo motors. With reference switch. This control type is used for indexing axis which runs in one direction. If the length of the movement is less than 1 motor revolution, reference switch is not necessary. Application axample : Servo shears, press tables, indexing conveyors.
  • 31 : For indexing axis. For servo motors. With reference switch. This control type is used for indexing axis which runs in two directions. If the length of the movement is less than 1 motor revolution, reference switch is not necessary. Application axample : Pick and Place axis, Take out for press machine.
  • 50 : For cam follower axis. For servo motors. With reference switch. Application example : Servo plunger.
  • 60 : For gob distributors of IS machines. For servo motors. With reference switch.Special motor control types : Special motor control types can be added on request

More than synchronization
SM100 can perform control tasks other than synchronization. Especially when a task depends on the position, speed or phase of an axis, the perfect result is obtained.  SM100 s master drives software performs all these auxiliary tasks. There is no PLC or controller.

Ware reject system is a typical auxiliary application which is performed by SM100 perfectly.

Other features
  • Optionally SM100 can create a pulse which shows cycle start or a pulse train which shows the cycle angle or speed. These signals can be used to synchronize other systems to SM100. For example a tempering lines control system.
  • Optionally SM100 can synchronize itself to an external signal. A cycle start pulse or a pulse train. If SM100 is used for a tempering line, this option is used.
  • In standart configuration there is 1 operator panel in system. Some more panels can be added. On these panels all parameters of drives can be seen or modified.
  • SM100 has a modular structure. It is very easy to add new axes.
  • It is possible to power off a drive without stopping the rest of the line. After power on again, it is connected to the network automatically. This is a very special feature of SM100.
  • All electrical parts are standart and worlwide available, no home made electronics.
  • SM100 can synchronize reluctance motors without a feedback device. Only power cable is used for motor. This means less maintenance and lost time.
