SINGLE AXIS
SYNCHRONIZATION SYSTEM
SM1 synchronization system is a single axis synchronization system. It is used to synchronize a sigle axis to an existing drive system or line. It provides automatic phase synchronization.

General Structure
SM1 is based on a single intelligent drive. A program module added to drive. All intelligence providing syncronization is this programming module. There is no need of an external controller. An operator panel can be added on request.
Synchronization signal
A 24V pulse, pulse train or quadrature encoder signal can be used as synchronization signal. Pulse can be a signal from a proximity switch or from main drive system. An encoder signal is preferred for perfect synchronization.

Motor
The drive is a flexible drive. AC servo motor, AC asynchronous motors or reluctance motors can be used. This means less spare parts and less training.

Almost all standart feedback devices are suporrted. So, major brands AC servo motors can be used. We prefer resolver feedback in glass production lines.

SM1 can synchronize reluctance motors without feedback device. Only power cable is used for a reluctance motor. This means less maintenance and less lost time.

Communication
Common bus systems supported.

Motor control types
  • 10: For true and automatic phase synchronization. A zero switch is needed. With servo motor, after a normal stop-start, zero signal is not required. After power off or drive trip, zero signal is required only once.
  • 11: Manual phase adjustment, no zero switch.
  • 12: For reluctance motors. Similar to type 10. Zero signal is checked at every cycle.
  • 20: Manual phase adjustment after every stop-start.
  • 21: Conveyor speed adjustment type. Motor speed changes permanently with each stroke of advance or retard buttons.
  • 22: For automatic distance adjustment on conveyors.
